That other Grandfather Clock
Check out this fabulous Clock by Irish designer Ryan McElhinney… sold to a customer in Dubai. There’s still money there after all…
Each piece is one of a kind and made to my clients requirements. This allows me to place toys that my clients may have played with in their childhood and tell a story. Clients often tell me that even a year after receiving their sculpture they discover new toys that they had missed or press a button and find toys that light up and make noise. Ryan McElhinney

It’s called reading
While all the hype is going on at CES about digital reading devices, tablet pc’s, islate and the likes… The smart people at Bonnier R&D published this video on their research focused on the future of magazine reading through handheld digital devices.
Pretty amazing stuff… which we’ll probably look back at in a few years with a “duuuhhh”

Back to Square one?
A while back we heard that Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey was working on a new start-up payment service that would let users make payments from credit card accounts using their iPhones. The result is Square, and it is now open to trial users. It has a solid feature set, and works with a hardware add-on that can swipe cards. Payments are even verified using email or viewed online in real time.
Besides convenience and the obvious shiny toy factor, Square’s payment method has it’s perks for users. With Square, businesses can do things like give you a free something after a set number of repeat purchases of their products, much like punchcards. It can even donate a cent from every transaction you make to the charity of your choice.
Square has projected an estimated public rollout time for 2010.

Since you can find them at Swedish “Our Children’s Gorilla“… it makes you want to be a kid and start saving coins again…

I like it dirty!

Designed by Roland Reiner Tiangco, Dirt Poster requires your participation to complete it. The back side of each poster is covered with a layer of ink, which you need to “paint” onto the front side the poster, to reveal the message that has been spot-varnished onto the paper. Awesome! The poster is limited edition and can be bought for $80.
